INSTITUT D'ARBITRAGE
2.17, Centre Urbain Nord, 1082 TUNIS (Tunisia)

If the General Secretariat of the Arbitration Institute is based in Brussels, administrative center of Europe is to better coordinate the procedures around the world. The universal competence allows its arbitration committees to seat in all countries.

The seat of arbitration doesn't depend from the nationality of the parties, but from their choice. The hearings' place may even be different from the seat of arbitration. Some countries provide greater facilities or neutrality for international arbitration. To benefit of this flexibility the Standard Dispute Rules are very useful.

International arbitration clause :

  • "Any dispute shall be settled by the Arbitral Court designated by the Institute of Arbitration (www.euro-arbitration.org), in accordance with the rules of arbitration SDR (Standard Dispute Rules). This clause replaces all authority clauses contrary to it."

To the recto of a document :
"A settlement through arbitration forms part of the general conditions mentioned on the back."

Domestic arbitration clause :

  • "Any dispute shall be settled at .......(city*)....... by the Arbitral Court designated by the Institute of Arbitration (www.euro-arbitration.org), in accordance with the rules of arbitration SDR (Standard Dispute Rules). This clause replaces all authority clauses contrary to it."

(*) = capital of your country or State
